I bought a mint-condition Alpine CDA-9884 head unit! $22.60 at the wreckers. I'm slotting it in later this weekend, and will hopefully have a full write-up. (note: not my pic)

I think I had that same one but with red buttons. Definitely cool looking layout

Yup, it recalls the one in the countach. One downside: I don't have the iPod dongle.

I have one of those in the Clown Shoe. I've got a BT/iPod kit and Sirius radio kit for it as well, if you want it - you pay shipping and its yours. The Sirius kit is the interface and a cradle for a separate tuner which you may not even be able to buy any more.

Had this exact setup in my trailblazer for...6 or 7 years at least. Great unit, never had a problem with it. Set the date in it and it will flash special messages for thanksgiving, 4th of july, your birthday...

I used to have the CDA-9853, the one with a touchpad instead of the 123456 buttons. I sprung for the optional iPod module. It was relatively huge, and SLOWWWWW to navigate to any particular track, album, or playlist, and it locked out the iPod's buttons and display.

this one's just an iPod to MIDI cable, thank god.
